Waiver Policy
The Journal of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Medicine (JCCM) is dedicated to providing an open-access platform for publishing high-quality cardiovascular research. The journal understands that some authors, particularly those from low- and middle-income countries, may face financial challenges when it comes to covering Article Processing Charges (APCs). To ensure that such authors are not excluded from publishing their important research, the journal offers a waiver policy under specific circumstances.
Eligibility for Waivers
The JCCM waiver policy is designed to support authors who may have difficulty paying the APC. Waivers are available for authors from low-income or developing countries, as well as for those with financial constraints due to lack of institutional funding or other valid reasons.
Waivers will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Authors who wish to request a waiver must submit a formal request, including supporting documentation to demonstrate their financial need. Such documentation may include:
- Evidence of limited funding or institutional support for publication.
- Affiliation with a research institution in a low-income or developing country.
- Other valid reasons for requesting a waiver.
Waiver Approval Process
The editorial team of the JCCM will review waiver requests and supporting documentation. Authors will be notified of the decision within a reasonable timeframe after submitting the waiver request. It is important to note that waivers are granted at the discretion of the editorial team and may not be available to all authors.
Partial Waivers
In some cases, a partial waiver of the APC may be granted depending on the circumstances and available funding. Authors who receive partial waivers will still be required to pay a reduced fee to cover part of the publishing costs.
Waiver Requests Submission
To submit a waiver request, authors must contact the editorial office of the JCCM at info@heighpubs.us. Please include the following information with your request:
- Your full name and institutional affiliation.
- The title of your manuscript.
- The reasons for requesting the waiver, including any relevant supporting documentation.
Requests for waivers should be submitted as soon as possible after submission of the manuscript. Authors are advised to submit their waiver requests before the final decision on publication is made to ensure timely consideration.
The JCCM is committed to ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent the dissemination of valuable cardiovascular research. We encourage authors to contact us with any questions regarding the waiver process or eligibility criteria.
