Submission Guidelines and Manuscript Preparation
The Journal of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Medicine (JCCM) welcomes the submission of high-quality original research articles, reviews, case reports, and clinical studies focused on various aspects of cardiology and cardiovascular medicine. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts that explore innovative research, clinical applications, and advancements in the field of cardiovascular health.
Types of Manuscripts
We accept the following types of manuscripts:
- Original Research Articles: Full-length articles presenting original experimental research, clinical studies, or data-driven research related to cardiology.
- Review Articles: Comprehensive and critical reviews of the latest advancements in cardiovascular medicine, clinical applications, or research methodologies.
- Case Reports: In-depth reports describing unique or rare clinical cases, along with a discussion of their clinical significance.
- Clinical Guidelines: Well-structured recommendations for clinical practice based on the latest evidence in cardiovascular medicine.
Manuscript Submission Process
To submit a manuscript, authors must follow these steps:
- Manuscript Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. PDF submissions will not be accepted initially.
- Title Page: The title page should include the title of the manuscript, the names and affiliations of all authors, and the contact details (email and phone number) of the corresponding author.
- Abstract: Provide a concise abstract of 150-250 words summarizing the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the study. The abstract should not contain any references or figures.
- Keywords: Include 3-5 relevant keywords that describe the content and subject of your manuscript.
- Introduction: Briefly introduce the background of the study, the research question, and the objectives of the manuscript.
- Materials and Methods: Describe the study design, methodology, and any experimental procedures used, including statistical methods.
- Results: Present the results clearly, with appropriate use of tables, figures, and descriptive text. Avoid excessive repetition.
- Discussion: Discuss the implications of the results, how they contribute to the field of cardiology, and their potential impact on clinical practice. Include limitations and suggestions for future research.
- References: Include a list of references in National Library of Medicine (NLM) style. All references should be numbered and cited in the text using parentheses.
Figures and Tables
Figures and tables should be included in the manuscript file, not separately. Each figure and table must be numbered consecutively and have a descriptive title. Authors should ensure that figures are of high quality (300 DPI) for proper printing and publication.
- Figures: Figures should be submitted in JPEG, PNG, or TIFF format. Each figure must be cited in the text, and legends should be included beneath each figure.
- Tables: Tables should be concise and should not duplicate information in the text. Each table should be numbered, and captions should be placed at the top.
Ethical Approval and Consent
For research involving human subjects, authors must obtain approval from an institutional ethics committee or an equivalent body. The approval statement should be included in the methods section. For case reports, informed consent from the patient or their legal guardian must be provided, and this should be documented in the manuscript.
Plagiarism Check
All submitted manuscripts will be subjected to a plagiarism check. Manuscripts that are found to have significant overlap with other published works will be rejected. Authors should ensure that their work is original and appropriately cited.
Manuscript Review and Acceptance
Once a manuscript is submitted, it will be assigned to two independent reviewers for peer review. Based on the feedback, authors may be asked to revise the manuscript to address reviewers' comments and resubmit. The final decision regarding the acceptance of the manuscript lies with the editorial board.
