The Journal of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Medicine (JCCM) is committed to providing an open-access platform for disseminating high-quality cardiovascular research. To ensure sustainability and to cover the costs of publishing, the journal charges authors for certain services related to the publication process. Below are the details of the charges that authors may incur during the submission and publication of their articles.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)

The journal applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover the costs of editorial and peer-review services, article production, and hosting. This fee is applicable once the article is accepted for publication and is paid before the final publication of the article. The APC is designed to support the high-quality, timely publishing process.

The current APC is:

• $2,589 USD for all types of articles.

This charge is mandatory for all articles accepted for publication. Authors are required to settle the payment promptly to ensure the timely publication of their article.

Waiver Policy

JCCM recognizes that some authors, particularly those from low- and middle-income countries, may face financial constraints. To ensure that these researchers are not excluded from publishing their work, the journal offers a waiver of the APC under specific circumstances.

Waivers are considered on a case-by-case basis, and authors must provide relevant documentation to request an exemption from the charges. This documentation may include evidence of funding limitations or affiliation with an institution from a low-income country.

Additional Charges

In addition to the standard APC, authors may incur additional charges for the following services:

• Color Figures: If authors wish to publish their figures in color, there is no additional fee.
• Supplementary Materials: If supplementary materials (e.g., datasets, videos, or additional files) are required for publication, there is no additional fee.
• Urgent Processing: For authors who wish to expedite the publication process, there is no additional fee.

These additional charges are optional and will only apply if the author requests these services during the submission process. The fees must be paid before the final publication of the article.

Payment Methods

JCCM accepts payments for article processing charges and additional fees through the following methods:

• Credit/Debit Cards: Payments can be made via Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.
• Bank Transfers: Authors may choose to pay via international bank transfer.
• PayPal: Authors can pay securely using their PayPal accounts.

All payments must be made in U.S. dollars (USD). For payment details, authors will receive instructions upon acceptance of their manuscript for publication.

Refund Policy

Once an article is accepted for publication and the processing fee is paid, no refunds will be issued, except in cases where the article is withdrawn before the publication process begins. Authors who request withdrawal before the peer-review process starts may be eligible for a partial refund, depending on the stage of the process.
