Author Guidelines
The Journal of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Medicine (JCCM) invites submissions of high-quality research articles, reviews, and case reports related to all aspects of cardiology and cardiovascular medicine. To ensure the smooth submission and publication process, we have outlined the following author guidelines for authors wishing to submit their work for consideration.
Types of Articles
The journal considers the following types of manuscripts for publication:
- Original Research Articles: Original findings of experimental or clinical research in cardiology and cardiovascular medicine.
- Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews of current literature on specific topics related to cardiovascular health.
- Case Reports: Detailed reports of individual patient cases that highlight novel clinical findings or unique therapeutic approaches.
- Letters to the Editor: Brief communications on specific issues related to cardiology or cardiovascular research.
Submission Process
Manuscripts should be submitted online through our submission portal. Please ensure that your manuscript is formatted according to the following guidelines before submitting:
- Manuscript Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Do not submit PDF files.
- Page Layout: Manuscripts should be formatted with 1-inch margins on all sides, using a 12-point font size (Times New Roman) and double-spaced text.
- Abstract: An abstract of up to 250 words summarizing the objective, methods, results, and conclusions of the research must be included.
- Keywords: A list of 3-6 keywords should be provided to assist in indexing.
- Figures and Tables: All figures and tables should be included within the manuscript file, and each figure/table should be referenced in the text. High-resolution images (at least 300 DPI) should be provided for figures.
Ethical Considerations
The JCCM requires that all studies involving human participants adhere to ethical standards set by the Declaration of Helsinki. Authors must include a statement regarding ethical approval for studies involving human or animal subjects. A statement of informed consent from patients or participants should be provided where applicable.
Plagiarism, duplicate publication, or data fabrication is strictly prohibited. Manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using appropriate software, and any unethical behavior will result in immediate rejection of the manuscript.
References (NLM Style)
The JCCM uses the National Library of Medicine (NLM) citation style. Please ensure that all references are cited sequentially in the text, with each citation numbered in the order of appearance. The reference list should be formatted as follows:
- Journal Article: Author(s). Title of article. Journal Name. Year; Volume(Issue): Page range. DOI if available.
- Book: Author(s). Title of Book. Edition. Place of publication: Publisher; Year.
- Online Sources: Author(s). Title of webpage/document. Available from: URL. Accessed on: Date.

Peer Review Process
All submitted articles will undergo a peer-review process. The JCCM uses a double-blind peer-review process, meaning that both the authors and the reviewers remain anonymous. Each submission will be reviewed by at least two experts in the field. Authors will be notified of the decision on their manuscript, which could be one of the following:
- Accepted for Publication: The manuscript is accepted without further revisions or after minor revisions.
- Revision Required: The manuscript requires revisions to address reviewer comments. The authors must submit a revised version within the requested timeline.
- Rejected: The manuscript is rejected after peer review and will not be considered for publication.
Manuscript Withdrawal
Once submitted, authors may withdraw their manuscript before it enters the peer-review process. If an article is under review, authors may request to withdraw it only with valid reasoning, and after assessing the manuscript's progress, the editor will determine the feasibility of withdrawal.
